Repainting the Clock Tower
Friday and Saturday, December 5 and 6, 2008
Project Days
We undertook a very big project: repainting the clock tower, and replacing the old cross on top of it.
The morning began early on Friday morning for the Tower Project work crew: Photos were taken, of course, to show the condition of the tower prior to power washing. Bob Ahia transported the "Cherry Picker" to the church, Rod Stepleton brought the power washer and the work began! After a bit of on-the-job training in the use of the lift, Nixon Jack took command and went to the heights of the tower. He removed the remainder of the old Cross and then, by the end of the day, he had power washed the entire tower. His expertise was invaluable to say the least! On Saturday, the tower was painted, and the new cross put in its place.
We are deeply indebted to Nixon and the Kosraean fellowship for their two days of hard, long labor in this special project. They worked a miracle!

Many people were there on Saturday for the painting of the tower. Several other projects were in progress on Saturday: Rev. Walter helped the children make candles for gifts to their families; we trimmed the tree, and put up the Christmas decorations; later in the morning, the children made stars for our narthex; yardwork was under way; and of course, there were lots of refreshments, and a wonderful lunch for all.
